Sir: I have cancer of ma Ma. My dream is to live to enjoy my family and my great-grandson, is why I am pleased that this Government has committed with this disease through the National Cancer Plan and the Cancer Act. However, these initiatives are not taken care of coverage of high-cost drugs. One of the biggest needs we have today cancer patients.
The plan speaks of strengthening equipment and train more medical specialists, ensure palliative care, educate on prevention and receive private contributions minus taxes, but says nothing specifically about the therapies we need patients.
This exclusion is serious and worrisome, because recently the Ministry of health informed us that therapy with inhibitors of cyclin for metastatic breast cancer is not considered in the Decree boom/GES 2019. This decision is condemned to die to about 350 women with Chile in metastatic breast cancer and who can not afford the 30 billion pesos that treatment cost.
As a group of patients with breast cancer, we ask the Ministry of health that re-evaluate this decision and raise with this right to live that we have many sick in Chile and ask the President to do explicit coverage of drugs in these two valuable initiatives.
