The rector Adolfo Pontigo Loyola requested the intervention of the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in the resolution of these actions, “since the origin of the resources in the accounts is of lawful origin”.

He reiterated that these resources come from the Treasury of the Federation, “so it cannot nor should be placed in doubt”.
Pontigo Loyola said that these actions seriously harm not only the prestige of the institution, but the legitimate exercise of the University autonomy; In addition, said, severely damaged the labour rights of nearly seven thousand 500 workers in active, retired staff and the families of all of them, in particular, the enjoyment of their wages and benefits.
Last February, the unit of financial intelligence (UIF) of the Secretariat of finance and public credit (SHCP) was alerted by the international financial system’s unusual movements in different bank accounts on behalf of the University.
In response, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Gerardo Sosa Castelán, rejected categorically the accusations about illegal money laundering operations and steps.
Rector urged the University community to remain United around the institution and defend their autonomy, as well as to remain aware and duly informed through the University system of Radio and Television, media and institutional networks, for avoid rumors and speculation.
He emphasized that these actions translates into a loss to the University and generate a paralysis of their substantive functions of teaching, research, extension and bonding.
He warned that the University Administration is also affected in the payment of basic services such as electricity, phone, internet or school transport.
