MEXICO CITY.- Former Governor of Aguascalientes, Luis Armando Reynoso Femat, received 2 years and 9 months in prison after his guilt was confirmed in the diversion of 13 million 800 thousand pesos in a 2008 government transaction.In criminal case 065/2013 to the former ex he was charged with improper exercise of public service and misworking, crimes that were confirmed in the sentence.

“The accused LUIS ARMANDO REYNOSO FEMAT is granted the replacement of the prison sentence for work in favor of the community, treatment in freedom or semi-freedom, in the terms set out in this resolution”. In addition, Reynoso Femat must real the damage of 13.8 million pesos to the State Government; pay a fine of 400 thousand 600 pesos, and will also be disabled for one year and six months from any public service. The sentence of August 20, proves that the former Governor instructed a diversion of 13.8 million pesos intended for the purchase of a CT scanner. First, the money was moved from the Ministry of Finance to the company Logística y Asesoría Comercial S.A. de C.V, which was not part of the list of suppliers of the state government. The company mentioned then moved the same million-dollar amount to the PBMG Corporate, which in turn sent the amount to the Administration, Trade and Commercial Representation, and finally, this company deposited the amount in a U.S. bank, which took advantage of the sentenced man’s son, Luis Armando Reynoso López, for the purchase of seven properties.
Reynoso Femat was also Mayor of the capital of Aguascalientes in 1999.
