Morelia, Michoacán.- After the meeting held this day at the Union Congress, university unions of the country agreed a convention to discuss the university budget.
Members of the National Federation of University Trade Unions (FNSU) and national coordinator of university unions, higher education, research and culture (CNSUESIC) met this morning with federal deputies to discuss the financial situation of universities.
Present, the leader of SUEUM, Eduardo Tena Flores emphasized the importance of respecting university autonomy and that university workers are not pressured through agreements with rectors in violation of their labor rights.
Federal deputy Ignacio Campos Equihua made it clear that university autonomy is not violent, wanting to hold a meeting where all parties are involved in discussing the university budget, referring to the authorities and unions, since , noted the figures varying.
So it will be next Monday, October 7th, that the parties involved meet to discuss the increase to university budgets.
