Presidency of the Republic confirmed with Animal Político that the infographic was disclosed by the site gob.mx, but stated that its publication was in January 2020, before cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the country.
The government unit said that as soon as cases of the disease caused by the SARScov2 virus were confirmed, the infographic was no longer recognized as official communication. It was subsequently removed from official networks and sites.
In the face of the circulation of the infographic in unofficial accounts, Presidency said that as of 14 March 2020, this information corresponds to government recommendations.
