Of the 181 deaths, 149 are concentrated in New York State, one of the most affected by the pandemic in the United States.
In Illinois, there were 12 deaths; in California and New Jersey four in each; in Pennsylvania three; Wisconsin and Georgia two in each state.

While in Washington, Michigan, Colorado, Indiana and Kentucky a death was reported.
“At the moment and due to delays by the US authorities due to the emergency, no remains or ashes of Mexicans who died by COVID-19 have been repatriated,” the chancellery said in a statement.
Several state governments have shown interest in working with Mexican authorities to repatriate remains or ashes and recommend cremation of the deceased in the United States without being a mandatory provision for the time being.
The chancellery reported that consular staff “maintain close contact with the families of coVID-19-affected persons in order to provide the consular assistance they need and to guide them on the various supports and resources they have.”
The consular network has so far registered 80 Mexicans infected with coronavirus.
