translated from Spanish: only Colima continues in red

The Ministry of Health announced a change in the way traffic light is assessed indicating the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the states. With this new measurement, which includes ten indicators instead of the previous four, there are already ten states at yellow traffic lights (moderate risk) and only one, Colima, in red. The rest is kept orange, considered “high risk”.
Dr. Ricardo Cortés, holder of the General Health Promotion Directorate, was in charge of presenting the traffic light at the evening conference on COVID but did not give details on the reasons for the modification of the indicators.
Last week only Campeche was at yellow traffic lights. Now nine other states accompany you: Sonora, Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Tabasco.
In orange most states of the republic are maintained: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Durango, Zacatecas, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Jalisco, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Puebla, Hidalgo, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Nuevo León and Coahuila.
Colima is found in red, with maximum risk.
The Ministry of Health announced that the criteria for traffic lights should be changed.
Previously only four meters were used: percentage of bed occupancy in intensive care, percentage of positive cases of coronavirus; tendency of occupied beds and trend of positive cases, i.e. expected behavior based on current numbers, and which is calculated by the Conacyt.
Now there are ten indicators divided into three categories.
As “Covid syndrome indicators” are evaluated: effective reproduction rate of Covid19, incidence rate of estimated active cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, weekly percentage of positivity to the SarsCov2 virus and trend of cases of Covid19 syndrome per 100 thousand inhabitants.
As “hospitalization indicators” the rate of hospitalized cases per hundred thousand inhabitants is analyzed, percentage of general beds occupied in hospitals of the hospital network for the care of severe acute respiratory infections (IRAG), percentage of beds with fans occupied in hospitals in the IRAG network and trend of hospitalized cases per hundred thousand inhabitants.
The last indicator is that of deaths and includes: mortality rate per hundred thousand inhabitants and trend of the mortality rate per hundred thousand inhabitants
