Established in 2015, 4 September celebrates National Wine Day as a way to recognize its historical importance to the country, and to remember its economic and cultural contribution, in addition to its place as Chile’s ambassador to the world. Large brands, boutique vineyards and small producers are offering various experiences, such as online tastings, special promotions, discounted tours, among others, accompanied by digital content about our wine.
To celebrate this important date for our country, Vinos de Chile organized a live toast led by Pancho Saavedra, for 20 hours this Friday, and to which everyone is invited to participate through the @nosgustaelvinocl. The live will feature interviews, renowned guests and many surprises.
Chilean wine is peasant culture, history and tradition; it is work enhancing social economic development and decentralization, and it is well-being, since enjoyed in moderation is beneficial to health. That is why he is paid tribute with his day, declared by official decree, whose purpose is to recognize a product that has become one of the main tourist attractions of our territory, in addition to highlighting the Chilean wine industry, recognized globally for its quality.
In economic terms, the wine sector is very relevant to the country, generating more than 100 thousand direct jobs, and another 500 thousand, considering temporary and suppliers, representing 13% of the agricultural jobs and more than 85% at the region level. In addition, the export of wines is equivalent to 22% of agricultural remittances, with US$ 2 billion.
