Michoacán.- A total of 66 normalist students were arrested by elements of the Michoacán Police for allegedly destroying Pan-Island’s collection booth on the Western Highway. Those arrested were transferred to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGEM) in the city of Morelia to define their legal status.
It transcended that the boys arrived at the aforementioned collection kiosk to protest automatic squares and government supports they wish to grant them, but at one point with stones and sticks allegedly caused different destructions at the local toll booths.
The situation sparked a strong mobilization of the staff of the Ministry of Public Security, who apprehended 66 normalists and took them on a bus on the Purhépechas line, with economic number 941, to the state capital to make them available to social representation for the damage generated.
Locks are untied in “Tiri”
Due to the arrest of the 66 normalists in Pan-Indícuaro, blockades were unleashed by their companions on the Morelia-Pátzcuaro road, at the height of the population of Tiripetío. Students used cargo vehicles to close traffic, but in a Public Order Restoration Unit operation the road was released. There were no more arrests.
Demand release
Members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers, led by Gamaliel Guzmán Cruz, made it to the outskirts of the FGEM in the Libramiento
Independence to protest the capture of normalists and demand their immediate release from the authorities. The matter is in tense calm and negotiations remain.
