The application of COVID-19 vaccines began on Monday in Coahuila state with 8 thousand 775 doses for first-line medical staff.
Vaccines will be applied at three locations in Saltillo, Piedras Negras and Monclova.
Of the total vaccines, 1,950 will be applied at the Headquarters of Piedras Negras, 975 in Monclova border, 2,925 in Torreón, and 2,925 at the saltillo headquarters, located in the 69th military battalion.

In a message prior to the start of vaccination, the governor of the entity, Miguel Angel Riquelme, recounted the progress of the pandemic in the state and recognized the work done by medical personnel.

He noted that more than 6,800 doctors infected with the virus and more than 60 medical staff deaths for the cause were in the pandemic.
He said that with vaccines intended for his condition, they are estimated to protect all medical personnel on the front line of care.
He commented that at the time, Coahuila has more than 1,300 beds to care for COVID patients and thanked the federal government for prioritizing its status for the implementation of vaccines.
He also called on the public to continue to take care of themselves and act with responsibility to prevent the spread of the virus.

On December 23, Pfizer’s first batch of COVID vaccines arrived in Mexico. On Thursday 24 the first 2 thousand 975 doses were applied to medical personnel from various public institutions, at a vaccination headquarters located in General Hospital, in CDMX, and another 2 in Querétaro and Edomex.
This Saturday came the second batch of COVID-19 vaccines, with 42 thousand 900 doses, of which 34 thousand 125 doses are for CDMX and 8 thousand 775 for the state of Coahuila.
