In a message prior to the start of vaccination, the governor of the entity, Miguel Angel Riquelme, recounted the progress of the pandemic in the state and recognized the work done by medical personnel.

He noted that more than 6,800 doctors infected with the virus and more than 60 medical staff deaths for the cause were in the pandemic.
He said that with vaccines intended for his condition, they are estimated to protect all medical personnel on the front line of care.
He commented that at the time, Coahuila has more than 1,300 beds to care for COVID patients and thanked the federal government for prioritizing its status for the implementation of vaccines.
