Federal Prosecutor Guillermo Marijuán today cited chief of staff Santiago Cafiero and presidential adviser Cecilia Nicolini as witnesses in the case investigating AstraZenenca vaccines that occurred in the country and have not yet arrived. The decision of the prosecutor, who is delegated the case on the orders of Federal Judge Julian Ercolini, came after The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, witnessed.
Researchers hypothesize that the state was a victim because it paid for vaccines – an estimated $54 million – that never came, as part of the lack of global doses to combat coronavirus. Vizzoti has already said that “the AstraZeneca laboratory admitted that the delay with Argentina in the delivery of vaccines is due to a delay in production and difficulties in accessing critical inputs needed in that production process”.

The complaint that led to the investigation was filed by an individual, in the middle of the contract for more than 20 million doses that Argentina agreed with the laboratory, but which did not yet give results, although the first shipment is expected before the end of the month. For now and beyond that the original complaint involved President Alberto Fernández and the minister, the hypothesis of the investigation is that the National State was the victim of an agreement that was not fulfilled by the laboratory.
