Cerro Catedral announced the opening of the sector of its base for skiers and ascents up to 1,600 meters for pedestrians from next Monday. The ski center will open the base sector every day from 9.30 to 17 and for pedestrians the chairlift will open from 10 to 16.The Cathedral team manufactured technical snow, when the conditions were right, and enabled the opening of the PlayPark for skiing or snowboarding. The PlayPark area was opened with the intention of starting the season with safety protocols, due to weather conditions. Its objective is learning at the base of the mountain, where you can perform the step by step in snow sports, and then enjoy the slopes at height.” We are excited to be able to enable services for our visitors. The beginning to generate snow, despite the costs and uncertainty, gave us the possibility of offering alternatives for our visitors and workers in the sector, “said Manuel Pérez Diez, Commercial Manager of the company Catedral Alta Patagonia, which has the concession of the hill. For those who want to enjoy the snow and the Cathedral but without the boards, you can ascend up to 1600 meters above sea level through the Stretch Chairlift.
During the winter 2020, Catedral was the first ski center to open its doors and test the new protocols and behavior guidelines of the ski center and, this season, already with a previous winter of experience and adjusted protocols, the hill will gradually open its doors with the services that it can enable according to the snow conditions. Currently, it is the most developed ski resort in South America, with 32 means of elevation and more than 120 kilometers of slopes and roads for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
