In February 2020, the Ministry of Finance, through the Fiscal Prosecutor’s Office of the Federation, filed a complaint for possible tax fraud against ABC Aerolíneas –controller of Interjet– and Miguel Alemán Velasco and Miguel Alemán Magnani, president and vice president of the company, respectively, for not informing the treasury of 66 million 285 thousand 195 pesos of taxes withheld by way of salaries, according to the media Expansión Política.
The complaint filed by the Attorney General’s Office is based on the testimony of a person who claims to work for the company, who denounced that Interjet did not pay ISR to the treasury between 2018 and 2020, even though, as established by law, it made the discount to the workers.

Interjet, an airline owned by Miguel Alemán Magnani, a businessman who is a member of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s Business Advisory Council, owed more than 3 billion pesos to federal authorities until the end of 2019 for VAT, ISR, fuel, migration, airport taxes and the use of airspace, according to official documents accessed by Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad (MCCI).
Just for fuel service, Interjet owed nearly one billion pesos to Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA), a state-owned company that supplies turbosine to commercial aircraft, while for migration service rights it owed a billion pesos more.
