General appointed as Secretary of Security in Zacatecas

After two months with the new government in Zacatecas, Arturo López Bazán left the state Secretariat of Public Security, in the midst of a stage of violence that the entity is going through.
In a post on Twitter, Governor David Monreal Ávila took protest to General Adolfo Marín Marín as the new secretary, with the aim of “recovering the tranquility and peace of our state.”

“I have come here to tell the members of the corporations that we accompany them and accompany each other; that they are not alone, that there are many of us who yearn for peace, security, tranquility of our state and that every public policy we exercise, every public policy we build, will be aimed at that recovery of peace and tranquility,” he said during the announcement of the relay.
Marín Marín, a retired brigadier general with a diploma in the General Staff, pledged to make the police force “rise to the challenge it faces to recover the prestige of the corporation” and asked for help from the mayors of the 58 municipalities of Zacatecas, to improve public security.

“We will work as a team, in close coordination with all law enforcement authorities so that, together, as a whole, we achieve the objectives and goals established of the goal of the Peace and Security Strategy 2018-2024,” he said.
After the departure of Governor Alejandro Tello, of the PRI, and with the arrival of David Monreal, from Morena, former Secretary López Bazán had been ratified in office, on September 12.
Just this October 18, the bodies of 10 people were located in the municipality of Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, nine of them were hanging on a bridge on Federal Highway 45, in the direction of the municipality of Luis Moya, and one more was located in the asphalt belt.
Last July, Zacatecas became the scene of violent clashes between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel.
