Democracy for rural Ahome

Important public officials within the administrations of the municipalities are, without a doubt, the municipal trustees. And, unlike cabinet officials who are appointed by the executive, municipal trustees are decided by plebiscite, that is, consultation with the citizens of the rural area. In the case of Ahome, the process for the election by direct vote of the citizens of the seven syndicates began last Monday with the publication of the call issued by the regidor@s members of the governance commission of the H. City Council of Ahome.This is a process of consultation with the citizens that is very important because it is the Municipal Trustees who represent them and who manage the progress in public services, programs and improvements for their rural communities. It is in this sense, that from here I call on all the citizens of the Sindicaturas, San Miguel Zapotitlán, Central-Mochis, Heriberto Valdez Romero (El Guayabo), Gustavo Díaz Ordaz (El Carrizo), Topolobampo, Ahome and Higuera de Zaragoza so that on February 6 they come to express their will to choose who will represent them for the next three years as their Municipal Síndic@s. but in a very different sense, I have already had meetings and talks with municipal officials because, in no way, they can participate for or against any of the candidates for municipal Síndic@s and for this, both the Ombudsman, the Internal Control Body and I will be vigilant, because one of the premises of the fourth transformation is to respect the popular will in every way. The plebiscite to elect municipal trustees, which in Ahome is lived at the level of a local election, due to its great importance, is another example of how in this municipality our citizens are highly qualified to lead a full democratic life that is not only restricted to electoral issues. For this reason, in the coming days the consultations will begin for what will be the conformation of the Municipal Development Plan and for this we will open all possible channels of participation, with the only restrictions that mark the sanitary protocols to avoid the spread of COVID, because I am convinced that the best proposals are those that emanate from the people. A government with the people, the people and for the people, such as the one we pretend to be, obviously goes through the need to listen effectively to the population in their demands but also in their proposals. In this sense, and following the example of our President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Ahome, a popular consultation has already been held with the issue of the Installation of the Fertilizer Plant and like this, we will make all the necessary consultations to the citizens because it is the participation of the people with their authorities that throws the best decisions and what would augur us a sustained progress that means Lasting well-being for the Ahomenses.
