The Ministry of Health updated the criteria to define a positive case without testing

The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, met this Friday with the provincial health ministers within the framework of a new call of the Federal Health Council (Cofesa). Faced with the collapse of the testing centers, the Government informed what will be the new way to confirm positive cases of coronavirus, without the need to do the test. According to the new definition, a confirmed case will be considered to be one person who meets at least one “epidemiological” and one “clinical” criterion. The epidemiological criteria are:

Be close contact with a confirmed case within the past 10 days.
Have participated in an event or social/work space in which there have been at least three confirmed cases (understood as an outbreak).
Reside in an area with a “very high incidence” of infected (more than 500 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days).

Large urban agglomerates are at epidemiological risk. In other words, those who, for example, live in the AMBA are already complying with an epidemiological criterion today. The clinical criteria are:

Two or more symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, vomiting/diarrhea/headache/muscle pain).
Sudden loss of taste/smell.
