The son of a journalist is murdered in Tijuana; there is a detainee

Marcos Ernesto Islas Flores, son of journalist Marco Antonio Islas Parra and a former media collaborator in Tijuana, was killed Saturday in the border city.
In an interview with Reforma, his father explained that Marcos Ernesto was attacked with bullets around 11:00 p.m. in the Lomas Verdes neighborhood.
Ernesto was a communicator until a year and a half ago, when he retired from the profession, because “he was outraged by many things and preferred to move away,” said his relative.

For these facts, the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Baja California reported that a man was arrested, allegedly responsible for the murder.

The detainee was identified as Jocssar Fidel “N”, 25 years old.
In a statement, the FGE said it is working to collect the evidence of the case and integrate it into the investigation folder so that the alleged perpetrator is linked to the process and sentenced.
He also reiterated “his commitment to work for the good and safety of all Baja Californians, regardless of their profession, as well as to provide protection and facilities necessary for media representatives to exercise their work freely and safely.”
So far in 2022, four homicides have been perpetrated in Mexico, related to journalistic work: they are the communicators and workers Armando Linares, Lourdes Maldonado, Margarito Martínez and Losé Luis Gamboa.
In the cases of Margarito Martínez Esquivel and Lourdes Maldonado, both were murdered in Tijuana, a week apart.
