Fully human

From the post-revolution, a new stage in the economic development of the country began, and at the same time a new business class emerged.
In the second half of the last century, surnames such as Trouyet, Espinosa Yglesias or Legorreta began to sound, as a promising preamble to others that would come to be added with more strength and presence in what we know today as the global world.
The business magazines and economic issues of that time collected such great protagonists and made them known more and better, inside and outside our borders, and even conceived lists of those who possessed greater wealth, among them, Slim, Larrea, Salinas or Bailleres.
That is why today, with the unfortunate death of Alberto Bailleres, not only his brilliant career in the business field has been reviewed, but also family background, especially those of his father, also a merited businessman in the field of finance.
With it, a whole stage of a generation of important businessmen with a philanthropic vision is closed or concluded, among them Lorenzo Servitje or José Carral, now deceased.
De Bailleres, it would then be necessary to highlight not only his solid training as an economist and with entrepreneurial talent, but his sensitivity, visionary capacity, while endowed with an evident social conscience.
We well know that he supported emporiums such as Peñoles in the mining industry, El Palacio de Hierro in commerce, CNG in the field of insurance, or ITAM in the field of higher education, as well as that guided by his bullfighting hobby, he acquired and managed three cattle ranches of brave bulls and even in front of the destinations of the legendary Plaza Mexico, icon of Mexico City.
How can we not remember his meritorious task that brought us so many benefits, the same in terms of capital investment, innovation of technologies, training of professionals in the economic field and the generation of jobs, even why not say it, in the field of advertising with that memorable slogan of “I am totally Palace”.
They are now at the head of that consortium that carries so many financial, economic, and social responsibilities, their own children, who as a whole already make up a dynasty that should desirablely continue to bear fruit, for the good of Mexico.
Of course, the name of Alberto Bailleres will remain in terms of a distinguished citizen and whose multiple merits led him to receive precisely the high and prestigious recognition of the Belisario Domínguez Medal, awarded by the Republic, among other distinctions he received in life.
A man to whom the emblem of “Totally human” could well be applied, because his life and work amply prove the predominance of his qualities and successes with respect to his limitations, whether it is his intelligence, personal quality and commitment to others.
