Matías Kulfas considered the agreement with the IMF “very important”

In radio communication with El Destape Radio, Matías Kulfas spoke about his position on the possible agreement with the IMF, “the agreement with the Fund is very important, which is not a point of arrival, nor the definitive solution to the problems of the Argentines, far from it, but it is an agreement that will undoubtedly remove those uncertainties; it will allow us to continue growing, which is the great objective we have.” In addition, he stressed that the agreement “will allow industrial growth to continue, perhaps not at the same level because we remember that last year was an atypical year, since we came from the great fall of 2020 and the last two years of Macri, but surely the industry will continue to grow at a reasonable level.” On the other hand, he clarified that “it is not an adjustment program, we know very well what the adjustment programs of the fund are, because we saw it, without going very far, in what was the 2018 program, which effectively involved cutting expenses, public works, productive programs.” This agreement provides for a reduction of the fiscal deficit by further growth, without spending cuts.” Real spending will continue to grow, productive policies, science and technology, social policy, public works will continue; this will allow the economy to grow, the collection to grow and with these elements we will be able to reduce the deficit by the virtuous way, which is without adjustment,” he said.
