Second flight to evacuate Mexicans in Ukraine

The federal government announced Wednesday that it will send a second flight to Europe to evacuate Mexicans who are in Ukraine and who want to leave that country due to the armed conflict it has with Russia.
The announcement was launched by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during his morning press conference, and was later ratified by Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard.
During his meeting with the media at the National Palace, López Obrador even said that this second flight could also evacuate citizens of Latin American countries that do not have ways to return to the region. In addition, the plane could carry humanitarian aid.

“What we are doing is protecting the Mexicans who are in Ukraine, they are being brought, today an Air Force plane is coming out again to bring Mexicans and also Latin Americans who do not have how to return to their countries, that we are doing, and humanitarian aid for refugees, for those who are already in camps and need support,” Said.

On his Twitter account, Ebrard reported that the flight began to be prepared by order of President López Obrador.

President López Obrador has instructed us to prepare, with the invaluable support of SEDENA and the Mexican Air Force, the 2nd flight to Romania in support of nationals evacuated from Ukraine. Nice day!

A first flight sent by the government brought from Europe 81 Mexicans who were evacuated from Ukraine to Romania.
For two weeks now, Ukraine has been in armed conflict with Russia. The Russian government invaded Ukrainian territory arguing its demand that Kiev recognize the separatist regions.
The position that the mexican government has held at the UN is to condemn the Russian invasion and call for an immediate ceasefire.
