Despite violence in Queretaro, the football league prepares the restart of the tournament

After the violent events that left unfinished the ninth day of the Clausura 2022 tournament of Mexican football, this weekend will resume with the match of Chivas del Guadalajara against Águilas del América, who will play the national classic.
The previous Saturday, the violence that arose in the stands and overflowed to the field of the La Corregidora stadium in the middle of the Querétaro match against Atlas left a balance of 26 people injured, according to government reports.
As an immediate measure, Liga MX determined the ban on the bars of the visiting teams in the stadiums, in addition to suspending three matches: Pumas-Mazatlan, postponed to March 27; Pachuca-Tigres, postponed to April 7; and Tijuana-Atlético San Luis on a date to be defined.

This Saturday at Akron Stadium, Chivas will be home in the Mexican classic and will host the Eagles with the decision not to allow access to their bars.

“It is neither expulsion nor punishment of our animation groups, it is a message from Chivas, from union,” explained Amaury Vergara, president of Guadalajara.

The leader of the Herd pointed out that the members of his bars “are very aware” of the need to take that measure, but also, he said, they are “very hurt because because of criminals they are affected.”
Both clubs made a call through social networks to live a “classic without colors” with the call to attend the stadium in white clothing.

Due to its high convening power, the national classic will have a security device of one thousand 400 elements for a stadium with a capacity of 46 thousand 232 spectators.
“Here we spare neither financial nor human resources in the safety of those who attend the stadiums,” said Juan José Frangie, mayor of Zapopan, the municipality in which the Akron stadium is located.
A week later, Chivas will have the Guadalajara classic against their neighbors, the Zorros del Atlas, in the Jalisco stadium – with capacity for 55,020 people – which will have the presence of one thousand 800 security elements.
Roosters of Querétaro with fear
The tenth day will start on Friday at the Victoria stadium where the Gallos Blancos del Querétaro will visit the Rayos del Necaxa.
The Querétaro Club will present itself to this commitment without the accompaniment of its bar, while its players, as announced by its Argentine technical director Hernán Cristante, have faced these days with fear.
“My players have received death threats, they are not calm, there are wives who are thinking of leaving,” Cristante said after his players sheltered atlas fans in the dressing room who were being assaulted by Queretaro supporters.

“There’s a sensitive squad, a squad with fear when the squad wasn’t really involved in any acts of violence or inciting these things to happen.”
At the moment, 14 alleged perpetrators of the riots and aggressions at the La Corregidora stadium have been arrested.
The full day will be like this: on Friday they play Necaxa-Querétaro, Juárez-Atlas, Monterrey-Mazatlan; Saturday: León-Tigres, Cruz Azul-Pumas, Guadalajara-América; Sunday: Toluca-Pachuca, Atlético San Luis-Puebla and Santos-Tijuana.
