Javier Ramírez Melecio, former PRI deputy, murdered in Guanajuato

The former local PRI deputy and former Celaya trustee, Javier Ramírez Melecio, was murdered in the community of Juan Martin, in Guanajuato.
According to the state prosecutor’s office, the body had gunshot wounds.
“Among the evidence collected at the scene were ballistic elements and a motor vehicle that are analyzed by the AIC,” the agency said in its daily report.

According to AM Noticias, on Wednesday afternoon the police were informed that a person had been shot on a dirt road, in Juan Martín, Celaya; upon arrival at the scene they confirmed that the victim had already died.
He added that according to the first investigations, the former deputy was driving aboard his truck when he was intercepted by another vehicle where armed men were traveling, who are presumed to have shot him and escaped.

Ramírez Melecio’s body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service where he is being studied to establish his cause of death.
The Congress of Guanajuato mourned the death and sent its condolences to family and friends of the former legislator.
