The opposition will seek the opinion for the Single Ballot

Different opposition blocs will seek in Deputies to achieve the opinion for the project that proposes the Single Paper Ballot. In this way, in a plenary of commissions they will face their peers from the Frente de Todos, who do not agree with the change for the next elections. The plenary will be between the Justice, Constitutional Affairs and Budget committees from 2 p.m. There the proposals by the opposition and the ruling party will be analyzed. On the part of the opposition blocs, the deputies of Together for Change, the Federal Interbloc and Together for Rio Negro worked together.
For their part, the legislators who answer to the National Government had already expressed their rejection of the proposal. Even the Secretary of Political Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, Patricia García Blanco, had said that “the party ballot system is impartial, is based on cross-control and has given a peaceful alternation between political forces.” In that sense, he questioned the method of the Single Ballot proposed by the opposition because “it generates that the voter does not know the complete electoral offer at the time of choosing.” In addition, according to her, the change “would give greater exposure to the heads of lists, devalue the political group and personalize the candidates.”
