River lost to Colón and remains winless in the Professional League

River fell on Wednesday to Colón de Santa Fe by 1 to 0, at the Brigadier Estanislao López stadium, for the third round of the Professional League, and remains winless in the local contest. The only goal of the match was converted by Ramón “Wanchope” Ábila, although the play was reviewed for six minutes by the VAR for an alleged offside of the striker. As for the game, during the first minutes of play, the cast commanded by Marcelo Gallardo exerted high pressure on his rival and came quite close to the area. However, the clearest move occurred at the end of the first stage, when the attacker Julián Álvarez was in an unbeatable situation, but could not finish when he faced hand to hand with the Uruguayan goalkeeper Leonardo Burián.For his part, the local cast did not have clear arrivals, since his striker, Ramón Ábila was very isolated in the area.

In the second half, River tried to control the ball better, but he continued to miss the last stitch and be precise in the final stretch of the court. Colón opted for the counterattack, a tactic that served him, since, in the 26th minute, Facundo Farías put a precise pass for Ábila, who seemed to define in the forward position. However, after six minutes of delay due to the intervention of the VAR, the goal was validated and the Santa Fe team took advantage. After the goal, there were no clear actions and, finally, Colón took his first victory in the Professional League, as he equaled the two previous matches. For its part, River still does not add triumphs in the contest, since in the first and second day it equalized against Defensa y Justicia and Atlético Tucumán, respectively. On the fourth date, the “Millionaire” will face Union on Sunday in Santa Fe, while the “Sabalero” will visit Lanús.
