Monterrey residents search pipes and rivers

At the beginning of summer, inhabitants of the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, in Nuevo León, took to the streets on Tuesday in search of the most valued resource in the state in recent months: water.
With buckets, bottles and other containers, villagers stood in long lines in front of the pipes that local authorities send to the colonies most affected by the shortages.
Some inhabitants even chose to go directly to the rivers and bodies of water in the area in order to supply themselves.

National media reported yesterday that some people also took irrigation water for green areas.
The situation in Monterrey keeps state authorities on alert, who hope that rains will soon begin so that nuevo León’s dams will be filled. 

Meanwhile, they urge the population to take care of the water and recently authorized that the government agencies form crews to monitor that a rational use of the liquid is made.
