Analysis of infections and vaccination

Cases of active COVID 19 patients in Sinaloa are exceeding the most pessimistic expectations. From May 30 to June 20, the growth was 535% (from 734 to 3,858 active patients). If you compare June 20 with May 23, it rises to 1.178%. It is an irrefutable fact that the active cases detected and classified by the Sinaloa Ministry of Health (SSS) are in an exponential growth. Despite this increase in active cases in Sinaloa, there are other elements that should be highlighted: First, the SSS reports, from May 23 to June 20, an increase in 44 more deaths in the total during the pandemic (from 9,842 to 9,886). Second, the availability of beds for COVID 19 patients has remained at 99%, which is a confirmation of the efficiency of vaccination of Sinaloans against the pandemic. Third, the start of vaccination of infants aged five to twelve from next Monday will be a great achievement of the management of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and will serve to initiate a control of the chain of infections. The health of The Infants of Sinaloa is the most valuable thing that our State has, perhaps there are those who continue to insist that the infants who are infected overcome the contagion asymptomatically. But, it is worth it, it is enough an infant who suffers from serious infections or death, for all the power of the State to seek vaccination. Fortunately, in Sinaloa already on Monday it will be a reality. In addition, it will serve to cut the possibility of contagion to the elderly relatives, adults and adolescents who live in the same home. Despite these data, descriptive of the control of the COVID 19 pandemic, built by the government and society of Sinaloa, the hard data of mortality that is associated with this disease should not be ignored: almost ten thousand deaths due to the pandemic in two years and almost three months. Between 2013 and June 13, 2022, the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office reports that 9,644 intentional homicides have occurred in Sinaloa. In Sinaloa, INEGI reported 9,123 deaths from diabetes from 2016 to 2020. It is important to comparatively analyze the mortality of the COVID 19 pandemic. But, above all, it is necessary to continue observing, EVERY DAY, the care and hygiene measures specified by the health authorities: Wash your hands, wear a mask, maintain distance, prioritize open spaces and with good ventilation in indoor spaces, when coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth with your elbow bent or with a handkerchief. But, above all, kind reader: IF YOU ARE NOT WELL, STAY AT HOME. The government has done a very important part by making vaccination accessible to the population, and even to children aged 5 to 12. Sinaloan society is now faced with the responsibility of following hygiene and care measures to curb the pandemic and the chain of infections. Returning to the rate of hospitalization and mortality of the first waves of infections can be of very serious social, economic consequences and, above all, of death of the Sinaloans. William Shakespeare wrote in his tragedy Hamlet: “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.” The description speaks of the fact that in the social and the state there is something rotten that no longer works. That phrase of Shakespeare MUST be applied to the Sinaloan and Mexican society that allows and coexists with femicides. The media reports of women murdered in Sinaloa, in Mexico City, in all the states of the Republic. The Mexican society that coexists with men who murder women because they are women is rotten, because they do not allow them to abuse them. It is the duty of every Mexican to respect the rights of others. Respect all women. Defend them if possible. In the seventies, the prose verse “Are there no objective conditions?” was heard on an album by José de Molina, in which the author seeks to describe the objective conditions of the class struggle, which the manuals of the left pointed out as a precedent for a revolution. It says one part: “This creates distrust between ourselves, Lack of civil courage, where blackmail, bribery, derangement and a fierce machismo that proclaims: ‘the only holy and pure women are; our mother, the wife and the sisters, all the others are seductive and therefore prostitutes.'” More than fifty years have passed and we continue to live deadly and daily expressions of that “fierce machismo” in Sinaloa and Mexico.
