CDMX will ask Interpol for a new token to arrest Raymundo Collins

The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that the prosecutor’s office of Mexico City will again request the red card for Interpol to arrest Raymundo Collins Flores, former secretary of security of the capital.
After an image was released showing Collins walking in Washington, she said prosecutors are finding out why “the proper job hasn’t been done.”
He indicated that the former official has an arrest warrant and that the formal request had already been made.

“It’s Interpol really, because he’s the one who has the red card – which is called – to be able to make the arrest, because he has an arrest warrant. So the Prosecutor’s Office is doing its job right now to be able to ask Interpol again to do its job,” he told a news conference.

In January 2020, it was announced that Raymundo Collins Flores had an arrest warrant for improper use of the public service related to alleged irregularities detected in the delivery-reception of the Housing Institute (Invi), where he was the owner.

In October 2020, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City requested the Extradition of the former capital official from the United States.
Raymundo Collins served as director of Invi from December 2012 to July 2018, during the administration of former head of government Miguel Ángel Mancera.
In July 2018 he was appointed by the interim head of government, José Ramón Amieva, as head of the Secretariat of Public Security of the capital, a position he left with the arrival of Sheinbaum to power.
