On July 17, the Secretary of the Navy paid tribute to the 14 elements that supported the arrest of Caro Quintero and hours later died after the collapse of a helicopter in Los Mochis, Sinaloa.
Through a video, the institution affirmed that it does not forget and will remember its elements who died while doing their duty.
“The Navy does not forget and will remember forever the glory of having had among its ranks such exalted sailors, whose names today we exalt in an eternal memory that will shake our memories by evoking them wearing their uniform, full of greatness, courage and pride of being sailors. Rest in peace brothers, you have done your duty.”

In the images, the head of the agency, Rafael Ojeda Durán, is seen in front of the 14 coffins, which had a Mexican flag on top, floral arrangements and photographs.
The tribute was held behind closed doors and the name of the sailors was kept under protection for the safety of the relatives.
“The love for the homeland of a sailor is eternal. Today we are in mourning because 14 honorable members of this great naval family undertook their last journey, leaving us an irreparable void and a great legacy of love for Mexico, “is heard in another fragment of the video.

On July 15, a helicopter of the Secretariat of the Navy collapsed in a cultivation area of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, leaving a balance of 14 dead.
According to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Black Hawk helicopter was carrying 15 people, who had just supported the arrest of drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero.
Only one person survived and is seriously injured receiving medical attention.
