The Instituto Patria filed a criminal complaint for “death threats” against Cristina Kirchner

The Instituto Patria filed a criminal complaint for the possible commission of the crimes of “intimidation and death threats” to the “detriment of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner”, damage “to property” and “breach of the duties of officials”, following some facts registered in front of its headquarters in the city of Buenos Aires.La complaint, Presented by the lawyer represented by the Instituto Patria, Fernando Castiglioni, maintains that on Thursday, July 21, at 6 p.m., “a group of 10 people broke into the sidewalk of Rodríguez Peña 80 Street, where the Instituto Patria operates, beginning to make violent death threats and intimidation to the detriment of the vice president and all the members of the institution.” The complaint was accompanied by a link made on the Twitter account of the free distribution newspaper El Argentino, in which photos, videos and texts were attached in which “it is clearly and precisely appreciated as a man of approximately 60 years, gray and glasses, dressed in a white pilot, brown pants and blue slippers, start megaphone in hand with serious epithets and death threats.”

In another section of the complaint, the lawyer warned that the seriousness of the intimidation was added to “the passive attitude of the Police of the City of Buenos Aires, which can be seen in the accompanied video, which allows people who are in the place to throw garbage, paint walls and hang posters with all kinds of threatening posters.”
“From the aforementioned link to the video, there is also an affectionate greeting between the uniformed man and the person who leads the aggressions, which would be showing us that they would know each other beforehand,” said the text of the complaint.
In addition, the lawyer requested that the Minister of Justice and Security of Buenos Aires, Marcelo D’Alessandro, give the “pertinent explanations for how many witnesses who were in the place have stated in a forceful way that police officers did not appear at the place to avoid the aggressions, which lasted about two hours.”
The complaint was made for the possible commission of crimes of “intimidation and death threats to the detriment of the Vice President of the Nation Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, damage to property and breach of the duties of officials.”
For their part, demonstrators who identified themselves as “self-convoked” threw garbage and kicked the doors of the headquarters of the Instituto Patria while one of them threatened to kill the vice president on “the gallows” through a megaphone, in front of four members of the City Police who observed what was happening, without intervening.
The group gathered after 5 p.m. in front of the headquarters of Kirchnerism on Rodríguez Peña 80 Street, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Congreso, and there they began to throw garbage on the access door to the building, which was closed, while the person on the megaphone said “Cristina, now it’s your gallows, it’s the only way to get rid of you.” in front of several agents of the Buenos Aires police.
The protest, which lasted for more than an hour, at one point came to cut the street without anyone interrupting it, with threats that followed the tenor of “We are going to hang you here, in front of the Instituto Patria and, if not, in front of the Senate”, which were made by the person who carried the megaphone and who seemed to lead the demonstration.
The phrases uttered called for the “armed forces to define themselves” and proposed “searching with machine guns to liquidate them at the time and hang them,” in reference to the supporters of Kirchnerism, in a succession of death threats that were recorded on video by a journalist who passed by the place.
The death threats against the vice president, who for several years has offices in the Instituto Patria, were added to the stone attack against the windows of her office in the Senate of the Nation on March 10, and a previous episode against the headquarters of Kirchnerism on Rodríguez Peña Street, in June 2021, while the symbol of the gallows has already appeared in several opposition marches of strong anti-Kirchnerist content.
