Civil Registry creates app to request reprinting of identity card

The Civil Registry presented an application that will allow requesting the reprinting of identity cards in case of suffering any theft, damage or loss of this document.
The Minister of Justice, Marcela Ríos, said in 24 Horas that “it is only to reprint certificates that are valid that have been lost, stolen or have some damage, not to renew those that have expired.”
He also clarified that the document “will be in force for the time it had remaining. If your ID expires in 2025, (the renewal) will expire on the same date”, added to the fact that it will have the same renewal price.
Who can request reprinting?
People who would like to request the reprinting of their identity card must meet the following requirements:

Have been over 16 years old in the last application.
The cédula must be valid (its validity must be greater than 30 days).
The issuance of the stolen or lost cédula must be equal to or after September 2013.

Use of the App
The app is located on the Play Store and App Store. In it, you must open it with your Unique Key, and then enter your email, your mother’s name and a facial identification. Finally you will receive a verification email.
