Face coverings that will not be allowed on the return to school

In this return to school, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) will ask students to wear a mask inside the classroom, as well as during the journey to school. Depending on the measures established in each of the states, it is recommended that the use of masks be used during classes, being an enclosed space that will house more than 30 children in a classroom. It is important that the student has a spare mask among their belongings, as dictated by the document “Preventive and protective actions against COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases to be applied in the school campuses of the National Educational System”. Actions that highlight the care to keep hands clean, comply with the complete vaccination schedule of educational staff and students from five years of age. Maintain ventilated spaces and in case of having a suspected case of Covid-19, perform timely detection to avoid unnecessary spread and stay alert for infections within the classroom. Masks with breathing or ventilation valves, as well as N95 are not allowed, since the material can allow saliva to come out and infect other people in case of having Covid-19. The use of face masks or protective lenses is not recommended, since they are not effective and N95 masks are only allowed to the health personnel of the institution, they are not suitable for minors. We recommend you read: Child goes viral for running out of vaccination center
