The captain and figure of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Brahian Alemán, confirmed that “the economic problem with the club has not yet been solved”, after the last date the squad decided not to concentrate last Friday, prior to the 3-1 victory against Independiente by the Professional Football League. The Uruguayan midfielder did not anticipate what the squad will do for the next date and said: “I did not have the opportunity to talk to the president of the club (Gabriel Pellegrino), but the problem is not yet solved.” Those led by Pipo Gorosito will face Newell’s on Sunday at 13 in Rosario, where they will put at stake the top of the table, which they share with Atlético Tucumán, with 33 units and equal in goal difference.

He also remarked: “Our goal is to be able to qualify in one of the cups and that’s what we’re focused on. In the meantime, if we can, we keep adding.” Finally, he concluded: “The long championships are set up for the big teams. There are many dates left and everything is very much fought. And just as today we are up there in two or three dates we can be out of the cups, so we should not relax and continue as we are, game by game.”
