Limbo is the new drama series that has the Star+ stamp and that arrives on September 28 to the screen to tell a story that follows Sofía (Clara Lago) and the relationship with her brothers, Ignacio (Mike Amigorena) and Andrés (Esteban Pérez), after the death of her father (Enrique Piñeyro) and the difficulties to reconnect. Creatively developed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, under the direction of Agustina Macri and Fabiana Tiscornia, the production consists of 10 episodes of 45 minutes each and has already filmed its second season that can be seen in 2023.To know a little about the world of this family and its secondary characters, we spoke with part of the cast who told us how their characters are composed and what relationship they have with the protagonist.

They are: Geena Román as Perla, Andrés Gil who plays Marco, Michel Noher who embodies the role of Martín who talked about their roles in this megaproduction filmed between Buenos Aires and Madrid.

The one who begins by telling us about her participation in the series is Geena Román who describes Perla: “Well Pearl is a swing of sensations, emotions, contradictions. It’s quite a fantasy she lives in an unreal world. And he accompanies Sou (Sofia) at all times for when Sou needs that dose of surrealism, of glitter of leaving reality. We with Marcos are that group that adorns their reality when things are not quite right,” he begins by describing. While Andrés Gil adds: “My character of Marco also accompanies Sou, he has a very special connection with the character of her, and I would not say that they are the frivolous part of her, because they are very pure. I would say they are Sou’s escape. The issue is that when that escape happens too many times she can’t reconnect and really heal what’s happening to her,” she says.

And he adds: “But we are as a support, we are unconditional. We have a certain naivety, so she also takes care of us. And my character being hearing impaired, has certain limitations and I need my friends to carry out a day to day as daily as possible, “he says. For his part, Michel Noher, will be the romantic interest of Sofia and about his character he tells us: “Martin is a bit the counterpoint of the characters of Geena and Andrés. He brings different information to the series and to Sou, fundamentally. That in this first season Sou is the series, then it brings him a different information. He is a very grounded person, very much of saying things in front no matter who is in front of him. And of course Sou finds that very disconcerting, and at the same time very attractive. And the link is generated from that. Of a lot of sincerity and a lot of truth, with the cost of that. But I think LIMBO is about that precisely that in that limbo in which she is stuck she needs my character to step on solid ground, “he says without spoiler anything of the plot.

– Is there anything about your characters that they identify with or on the contrary they have nothing of them? Andrés: “Well in my case being a hearing impaired boy, that already distances me because the way of perceiving Marco’s world is different from how I perceive it. And of course as an actor it was a very big challenge because playing Marcos involved me learning sign language and understanding or perceiving the world from another angle,” he says. And he describes the great acting work that earned him his character and the difficulties he encountered: “Actingly it happened to me on stage that I had to be very concentrated, because there was no sound that could distract me, obviously. I thought that I had that under control and at the time of filming, suddenly there was Kari Hernández who is the actress who helped me with the signs and indicated issues such as, for example, look if they do not touch your shoulder or if they do not make a sound that is visible to you, you can not move or react. ” Says.

For her part, Geena recognizes that she feels close to her character and says: “In my case with pearl we have a lot in common, we are both trans girls and I only had to take my experiences and experience and give light, life and voice to a lot of situations that I had already lived. And the only thing that worried me was to show them as I had lived them to be as faithful as possible and not transform it in other situations, “he clarifies.

In the same vein, Michel recognizes himself in some facets of Martin, although to a lesser degree: “There is something about my character telling the truth, about honesty with whom I know.and I can connect. Perhaps, Martin is a little more gritty than I am. That even when I saw the series finished I was struck by the things Martin says and how he says them, that I would be more diplomatic out there. I was a little uncomfortable with that, but at the moment I was saying them they seemed totally pertinent,” he said, laughing. To close Noher tells us about Limbo and why it is one of the obligatory series of the end of the year.” Limbo is a very different series than what we’re seeing. I think it’s going in another lane. It is not the consumption so fast to marathon, but rather it is a series to go inside little by little and get to know these characters and their limitations and capabilities. Through the vision of the protagonist who is empowered throughout the series and we accompany her on that journey, and in the end she leaves you a teaching, “he says. Limbo will premiere on September 28 on Star+ with 10 episodes available.and you can see the trailer here
