Femicide of Sabina Condorí: Roque Adrián Rodríguez, sentenced to life imprisonment

Roque Adrián Rodríguez was sentenced to life imprisonment this Friday as the author responsible for the femicide of Sabina Condorí, committed on April 14, 2019. During the early hours of the day, relatives and neighbors held a vigil, waiting for the Justice to make an exemplary decision. The Third Criminal and Correctional Chamber of the First Judicial District of the Province of La Rioja declared him as “criminally responsible and guilty of the crimes of sexual abuse followed by death and qualified homicide.” The case is considered the first infanticide in the province of La Rioja. The girl lived in the Virgen Desatanudos neighborhood located south of the city. On the last day she went shopping at a kiosk when Rodriguez intercepted her.

His body was found in a field in a neighborhood. “We could not believe it, there was no way to understand that anyone could have been able to commit such an atrocity, that someone so perverse would be so angry with her. She was just a girl with a lot of dreams to fulfill, with all the desire to live, to photograph life and so, as if nothing mattered, they snatched hers. They snatched it from him, yes. Sabina was killed!” wrote Susana Zaccaro, a referent of feminism in The Neighborhood of Yapeyú, Córdoba, wrote on Friday. It took 1265 days for Roque Adrán Rodríguez to be convicted. Today we say his name because it is always ours that are said, never theirs. We say it and we also shout that in the Virgen Desatanudos neighborhood of La Rioja the State has a huge debt and must fulfill it for Sabina, for everyone. Today a little justice was done but the struggle continues and we will always continue to talk about Sabina,” he concluded in a post published in the networks of the Powerful Throat.
