A confrontation between normalistas and teachers members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) in Michoacán with security elements left a balance of 7 injured in the community of Caltzontzin, located in Uruapan.
According to the Ministry of Security of Michoacán, the Civil Guard prevented the blockade of the train tracks in the town of Caltzontzin that the teachers were trying to do, whom it accused of attacking the officers with “rockets and homemade explosives.”

“We will remain in operation to inhibit any type of crime that alters the order and free development of the state, so we reinforce the work to prevent obstruction to communication routes. Zero tolerance!”, said the Civil Guard.
According to a report by Mi Morelia, the officers used tear gas to retreat the contingent of demonstrators into the community, and remain deployed in the vicinity of the railroads to prevent them from being blocked.

José Alfredo Ortega Reyes, head of the Security Secretariat of Michgoacán, who supervised the deployment in Caltzontzin, also went to the place, to avoid the seizure of the train tracks.
In September 2020, teachers also tried to block various train tracks to demand better working conditions and that teachers with a state key be treated as federal plaza teachers.
Last year they blocked the roads of the municipality of Pátzcuaro; Nueva Italia, a municipality in the province and autonomous community of Múgica of the town of Caltzontzin, in Uruapan, and the roads of Maravatío.
