Strengthen team and communication area: Pablo Paredes reinforces Secom and Olivares leaves sub-direction to fall into the cabinet of Minister Vallejo

In order to enhance the communication area, the Secretariat of Communications (Secom) of the Government of President Gabriel Boric, made official various internal movements from the head of Pablo Paredes.
It should be noted that Paredes, poet, publicist and screenwriter by profession, was one of the main architects of the electoral strip of the campaign of the then candidate, Gabriel Boric, with whom he maintains closeness.
According to El Mercurio, the action seeks to strengthen the team and correct various shortcomings of the first stage, achieving greater closeness with the media and political approaches with the government coalitions: I approve Dignity and Democratic Socialism.
From the Palace, they assure that the communication area of the Government must be strengthened in order to advance in structural changes, such as tax or pension reform, as well as security and solutions to the rise in the cost of living.
One of these changes is the departure of journalist Javiera Olivares from the sub-directorate, being replaced by the former head of Communications of the Ministry of Education, Sebastián Fierro. Close people say that they have known each other for years with Paredes, so there is trust between the two.
Olivares, who was president of the Association of Journalists, became part of the cabinet of the Minister spokeswoman of the Government, Camila Vallejo, occupying the programmatic area of the Segegob. As press chief of the Secom, the journalist Ana María Araneda remained, who will be in charge of the media monitoring in place of Sebastián Minay.
Araneda was head of communications for the presidency of the Senate and the House. She also served in the same position in the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity.

The position of press chief was left in the hands of Camila Carreño, who worked on President Boric’s campaign and advised him in Congress when he was a deputy. The team was also joined by journalists Catalina Aninat and Francisca Acevedo.
