Formula 1: George Russell takes over the Sprint race

The British George Russell (Mercedes) will start tomorrow in the pole position of the Brazilian Grand Prix, penultimate date of the Formula 1 calendar, after staying today with the Sprint at the circuit of the José Carlos Pace racetrack (Interlagos), São Paulo.
Russell completed the 25 laps of the competition in 30.11.307 and was escorted by Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who was second in his Ferrari, and Englishman Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), third. The first eight, with points for the tournament, were completed by the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull, anticipated champion of the season), the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), the Englishman Lando Norris (McLaren) and the Danish Kevin Magnussen (Haas, had made the pole). With the crown already in the hands of Verstappen, who was consecrated with a record of victories in a season (14), attention shifted to the fight for second place between his Red Bull teammate, Mexican Sergio “Checo” Pérez (284 points) and Monegasque Charles Leclerc, of Ferrari (278). The same goes for the builders: Red Bull secured the cup with 705 units. It is followed by Ferrari (497) and Mercedes (461). After the competition in Brazil, which will start tomorrow at 15 (Argentina time), the highest category of motorsport will close its World Championship on November 20 with the Abu Dhabi GP.
