Prosecutors Luciani and Mola speak again in the trial for Vialidad

The prosecutor Diego Luciani will speak again this Monday in the trial for the Public Works in Santa Cruz, in which Vice President Cristina Kirchner is accused of leading an illicit association mounted to defraud the Estado.Se it is a single hearing in which the prosecutors – prosecutor Sergio Mola will also have the floor – will respond to the nullity proposals made by the defenses throughout the days of arguments,  ranging from the use of evidence obtained in other processes (such as the content of the telephone of former official José Francisco López) to the introduction in the allegation of facts on which, according to the defenses, the accused could not defend themselves. This instance would give way to the final phase of the process, in case the representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office refuse to enable the stage of replies and rejoinders. It is a stage in which one of the parties answers a topic – introduced by another – that has not been previously addressed. It is believed that prosecutors will reject this measure, so the verdict would be known in the coming weeks. Among the accused, it is worth remembering, is the former president, for whom the prosecutor Luciani requested 12 years in prison and the perpetual disqualification to exercise public office. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. through the mixed modality (face-to-face and by Zoom) and representatives of the Financial Information Unit (UIF), which is a plaintiff in the case but decided not to accuse during its argument, will also intervene. The next step will be the “last words” of the defendants, who will have the possibility to speak to the judges before they retire to deliberate and announce the verdict. It is a right for the 13 accused and, as the defenses let transcend, all plan to speak.
