America of Mexico asked for removal of points and the relegation of Independiente

Independiente received a complicated setback by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for the case of Cecilio Domínguez, a player for whom he owes six million dollars to America de México, a club that asked for severe sanctions to the institution of Avellaneda.Given these situations, America requested to realize a removal of points and even the relegation. The truth is that the Red never finished paying the pass of the Paraguayan attacker and the Mexicans have no intention of negotiating a payment plan in installments: they intend everything in cash. Given this situation, those commanded by Fabián Doman went to the CAS in November 2022, an agency that determined to pay the debt within the next 45 days. Currently, that deadline has expired and the Red has six days to respond to the disciplinary sanction requested by the Mexicans. In this way, he will present the proposals that were made to the Mexicans from October to date and were rejected, in order to demonstrate the willingness to pay. On the other hand, in Avellaneda they celebrate that there was no request for inhibition and could continue to incorporate for next season. From FIFA-TAS they maintain that there are three markets that must be inhibited for a sports sanction to materialize, a situation that so far did not happen and is not at risk. Maximiliano Walker, Independiente’s lawyer, spoke with TyC Sports and said: “At 12 o’clock we were notified that America asked FIFA to collect the debt and apply a series of sanctions,” adding: “We have made no less than five payment proposals and all were rejected. In the worst case we could have a ban on incorporating.” Finally, he concluded: “Independiente will have to honor this debt, according to the economic possibilities that the club has. The initial amount ($5,700,000) will be higher due to interest for the duration of the conflict.”
