California: Shooting left six dead, including 6-month-old baby and his 17-year-old mother

Six people were killed in a shooting Monday morning in the U.S. state of California. Five of them were pronounced dead at the scene and another died at the hospital, local media reported. The incident occurred at a home in Goshen, Tulare County, and two of the fatalities are a 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old baby. The house had been searched last week during a drug trafficking raid. Authorities believe there are at least two suspects so far and rule out that it is a random event considering that it is related to clashes with gangs in the area. The police went to the home after receiving an emergency call from one of the neighbors who warned of the possible presence of an active shooter, due to the large number of shots that had been heard. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on its Facebook page that deputies were called to a home at 6,800 Harvest Street in Goshen shortly after 3:30 a.m. The sheriff’s office did not elaborate in the statement. The agency said only that it is investigating the shooting and will release more reports about it after receiving more information. According to the KFSN-TV report, officers immediately saw two victims killed in the street and then a third at the entrance of the house upon arriving at the scene.
