CABA Increases | From March taxis and highways go up

The Buenos Aires government confirmed today that both taxis and tolls will suffer fare increases in two sections starting in March. The increases in the taxi fare will be 50% and in the tolls ranges between 65 and 85%. For the taxi fare, an increase in two tranches of 30% is expected in March and 20% in May. In this way, the increases will be 30% and 20%, so the daytime flag drop will go from the current $ 225 to $ 293 in March and $ 351 in May. Meanwhile, the value of the token for day services will go from the current $ 22.50 to $ 29.30 in March, and $ 35.75 in May. Last year the taxi fare had increased by 20% in April and after mid-year it suffered another increase of 50% in two tranches: 30% in September and another of 20% in November. For this reason, the GCBA called for a Public Hearing that will be virtual for February 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm regarding the rate for the operation of the Public Service of Rental Cars with Taximeter of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.As for tolls, an increase was also provided in two sections for which the rate of the highways will increase by 45% in March and 40% in May, except for the Paseo del Bajo that will increase from March by 65%.
