Officials of the Investigative Police (PDI) killed two subjects who tried to carry out assaults on Thursday night. The first incident occurred in the commune of Lo Prado, while the second in Maipú.
According to police information, two individuals tried Thursday night to steal the car of a PDI official at the intersection of General Oscar Bonilla Avenue with Ministro Gana, in Lo Prado.
The cash was inside the vehicle, waiting for a relative. In that context, the antisocials, who were armed, tried to open the car.
The officer then shot them both. One was killed while the other was shot and wounded. The latter escaped from the scene.
Prosecutor Fernando Ruiz, of the North Central Prosecutor’s Office, commented that OS9 and Labocrim personnel will take charge of the “proceedings to effectively establish how the dynamics of the events occurred and if there is also a situation of legitimate defense on the part of the official, who is collaborating with the diligence.”
At the same time, he mentioned that the PDI “is in the capacity of accused, since what we have to determine, according to the testimony of witnesses, of the official involved and of the other expert records, if indeed the dynamics of the facts is that mentioned by the official.”
Dejected in Maipú
The second incident also occurred Thursday night. At that time, an official of the PDI, who was on his way, was on his way to buy from a botillería, located in Olimpo con Blanco Encalada, in Maipú.
On the way, the cash realized that three armed men – who had descended from a vehicle – were assaulting a couple at a bus stop.
The PDI approached the place and identified himself as an official of the institution. One of the antisocials pointed a gun at him. The cash then drew his service weapon and fired four times. The group then withdrew from the scene.
Later, a subject wounded by a bullet, of similar characteristics to the one who tried to perpetrate the robbery in Maipú, arrived at the Cesfam de Cerrillos. The person died in the compound.
The Public Ministry ordered that the OS9 and Labocar Carabineros carry out the proceedings of the case.
