The interior minister commented that the Foreign Ministry is in talks with Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, among other countries.
In turn, he indicated that “an even broader call for support from the private sector within the country will be activated.” In that sense, he said that “we are going to expand the work that has been done at the regional level and also from Senapred, for example, to further expand the collaboration we are having with Corma.”
Minister Tohá also announced that the Government decreed a State of Emergency of Catastrophe for the Araucanía Region. The Executive had already applied this measure in the regions of Ñuble and Biobío.
Forest fires raging in the south of the country have left 16 dead.
