Senator Rincon after official expulsion from the DC: “I will always defend my principles”

The Supreme Court of the Christian Democracy (DC) resolved in the last hours the official expulsion of Senators Matías Walker and Ximena Rincón, who currently belong to the party in formation “Democrats”, for having campaigned for the Rejection in the plebiscite of last September 4.
At that time, both Walker and Rincón opted for a different decision from that of their then party, which urged for approval, while both parliamentarians advocated rejecting the proposal of the Constitutional Convention.

After the decision, the parliamentarian used her Twitter account to express her discontent, pointing out that “I will always defend my principles and convictions and I will do so whatever the consequence.”
“With former President Frei we were in tune with the vast majority and want everyone’s home and not an absolutist proposal. That has earned our expulsion. They did not dare so much with the former president,” Rincón said.
It should be recalled that the Supreme Court also decided to reject the complaint and expulsion in the case of former President Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, arguing that he did not participate in propaganda activities or political campaigns contrary to the agreement adopted by the National Board of the DC.
