At about noon on Tuesday, a man who evaded a police control tried to run over the group of Carabineros who were inspecting the cars that traveled the 105 kilometer in the direction of Calama, at the height of Sierra Gorda.
It should be noted that despite the indications of arrest, the driver made an evasion maneuver in the opposite direction to traffic and tried to run over the police personnel. The latter tried to stop the action by firing at the moving vehicle.
After that, the driver lost control of the truck and collided with a fuel transport truck, opportunity in which he got out of the car to again try to flee in another car through the intimidation of the owner. Once there, the Carabineros took advantage of quickly thwarting the action.
Faced with the situation, the police personnel requested support via radio being attended by Carabineros of the OS7 of the El Loa Prefecture and personnel of the 1st Police Station of Calama. It is important to mention that the truck registers a current order for theft, a fact that is reported in the city of Coquimbo.
Likewise, the Public Ministry took account of the fact and left the driver as accused of receiving, robbery and frustrated homicide to Carabineros on duty.
