Jorge Macri said that there could be more than one PRO candidate for head of government in the City

While the candidacies for the city of Buenos Aires are still being defined in the PRO that replaces Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and, at the same time, competes with Martín Lousteau of the UCR within Together for Change, Jorge Macri made a revelation. In a dialogue with Radio con Vos, the Minister of Government of the city of Buenos Aires said: “I am not worried or bothered that there is more than one PRO candidate in the City. I’m not going to change my mind. I will be a candidate with all those who want to accompany me. No matter how many of us there are, I’m going to be there.” This is because another of the names that is in the PRO folder is the Minister of Health of Buenos Aires, Fernán Quirós, and although the Minister of Education of the City, Soledad Acuña, also sounded, she herself was in charge of canceling her candidacy. On the other hand, he referred to the “concurrent” elections that the city decided to implement to vote for its next head of government: “I worry that people will get tired of waiting. But the chosen system allows for a very transparent election and allows everyone to participate. It’s progress.” Finally, as for the criticism he received for the doubts generated by his candidacy, since it was not known if he met the necessary requirements, he made it clear that “I over-meet the requirements to be a candidate in the city. I was born by chance in Tandil, but I’ve been here for 41 years and I’ve lived here since 2015.”
