For violating the principle of legality, Congress removes the superior auditor

Morelia, Michoacán. – The State Congress removed Miguel Ángel Aguirre Abellaneda from the position of Superior Auditor of Michoacán, for violating the principles of legality, definitiveness, impartiality and reliability, acts typified as crimes of corruption, according to a statement.
This decision seeks to ensure that the technical oversight body of the Legislative Branch is a true instrument of oversight and review at the service of the people of Michoacán.
When the decree was approved, the accountant concluded his functions as head of the supervisory body, after considering the facts and the criminal complaint filed by Deputy Seyra Alemán Sierra, which gave rise to the investigation folder in the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán in progress.
The opinion presented by the Inspection Commission of the Superior Audit of Michoacán and endorsed by the plenary of the Legislative Power, argues that the former head of the ASM violated the principle of legality by issuing in September 2021 two inspection orders to federal resources exercised by the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, without there being a collaboration agreement to audit said resources with the ASF.

Likewise, it was declared that Aguirre Abellaneda violated the first article of the Law of Superior Audit and Accountability, by issuing his regulatory regulations to create the General Directorate of Planning and Oversight, with a holder who appoints and removes the Superior Auditor, damaging the partiality of all actions in matters of control, when they are carried out under his absolute command.
Similarly, the deputies described the work of the former servant as deficient, since during the process of review, inspection and opinion of the State Public Account corresponding to fiscal year 2021 it was not possible to express itself in this regard by the State Congress, because the procedures were insufficient.
It is because of these irregularities that the 75th Legislature decided to remove Miguel Ángel Aguirre Abellaneda from office.
It is noteworthy that the law provides that, until the new head of the ASM is appointed, the Special Regulatory Auditor will assume the position.
