Banks will no longer demand proof of life from retirees and pensioners

As of today, about four million retirees and pensioners who had to periodically carry out the process of survival or faith of life will stop doing so, given that Law 27,721 comes into force that eliminates that requirement for the collection of their salaries and other pension benefits. In that sense, according to Telam, the 7.3 million retirees and pensioners of the Argentine Integrated Social Security System (SIPA) and the beneficiaries of non-contributory pensions paid by the National Social Security Administration (Anses) will be placed on equal terms. In this way, the first entity that annulled the requirement of faith of life was the Bank of the Province of Buenos Aires since September 2019, for having its databases in line with the National Registry of Persons (Renaper). For its part, from the Anses indicated that the banks Nation, Province of Buenos Aires, Cordoba, La Pampa, San Juan, Entre Ríos, Santa Cruz and Santa Fe no longer asked for the survival procedure, a lot to which in recent months the Piano, Supervielle and Santander were added. other banks, such as Ciudad, Galicia and Credicoop, said they are preparing their systems to not require actions of any kind for the collection of retirees and pensioners, although in all cases they pointed out that they are waiting for the regulation.
