Araceli González: “I had a study and they detected a bacterium in my intestines called SIBO”

Araceli González told from her social networks that she suffers from SIBO, a disease that affects the small intestine generating an overgrowth of bacteria in the organ, and hence its acronym in English: Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, that is, bacterial overgrowth of the small intestine. In this way, the actress expressed herself on her instagram and said that after thanks to a study she managed to obtain a diagnosis about her stomach upset: “I felt very bad about my belly. I did a study that lasts 3 hours and they discovered that I have this famous bacteria, bug, in the intestines that is called SIBO,” he began. He also revealed what care he should have in his diet: “I just came from the dietetics of buying everything, they saw that I eat gluten-free, lactose nothing because it makes me very bad and sometimes some birthday a little sugar … I can’t consume sugar, not a little bit, no lactose, no soda, no gluten, no leafy vegetables. A lot of other things… I have to do this diet for a month along with the antibiotics I was given and some blisters to drink in the morning. I can drink my vegetable milk,” she said. While he opened up about the disease and the sensations it causes: “I have this disgusting, filthy bug that settles in the intestines and there it is, it causes you a lot of things … Belly swelling, inflammation, constipation, you dislike food, everything you eat, you no longer know what to eat, you do not enjoy anything. For a month I have to do a super strict diet, no sugar, coffee can’t have sugar, it can’t be roasted,” he continued. However, he was happy to get answers about his symptoms and how to carry out an adequate treatment to treat him properly: “At one point it gives me joy because I discovered what I have. If you have some of these symptoms, I turned to a gastroenterologist to do the right study and know if you have it or not,” he said. To close the actress told how was the study that was carried out to reach the diagnosis: “It is not done by blood, it is done with a device that you have to blow for a certain time, every half hour for three hours. They give you to drink a liquid, but hey, nothing serious … Luckily, there are antibiotics to cure this,” he added. What is SIBO and what are the ways to detect it? SIBO is a process still little known and diagnosed, and although more and more research is being done on its causes, symptoms and treatment, today in public health systems the diagnostic test that is used most frequently, the breath test or hydrogen test in exhaled air, which is a non-invasive study, and consists of the measurement of hydrogen in the air that we exhale through the mouth after ingesting a substrate (sugary liquid). It lasts between 1 hour and 3 hours, depending on the measurement you want to determine.
