Low inflation in Michoacan gives citizens more purchasing power: Sedeco

Morelia, Michoacán.- Michoacán closed the month of July with a decrease in food inflation and generalized of 8.6 and 4.2 percent, respectively, compared to October last year, which favorably impacts the pocket of the population, as reported in a statement.
The Undersecretary of Labor and Social Welfare of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Yunuén Mejía Béjar, explained that, in the tenth month of 2022, food and generalized registered their highest peak reaching 16.1 and 10 percent, respectively, and that since then a sustained decrease has been maintained.
Food inflation currently stands at 7.5 percent, and overall inflation at 5.8 percent. “It continues to fall, it is a very satisfactory figure in economic terms, since that allows citizens to have greater purchasing power and that their money reaches them for more things,” he said.
Mejía Béjar said that the reduction in food and general inflation, which has already accumulated nine months down, is reflected in the prices of the products of the basic basket, which only in Morelia is sold at 978.80 pesos in the Center of Commerce and Popular Supply, better known as the tianguis of the Fair.
